Prior to moving to the new territories, the cats were low on food, and shelter. The lake territories were run down by two-legs and build over the majority of the clans' territories, aside from that a plague of black-cough was spreading, so the cats had no choice but to relocate once more one the medicine cats received the prophecy:

"The land is consumed by the light, stone and brick will stop the lake's heart from beating. A new land must be found, a land of stars."

Post moving, and their great adventure to escape the collapse of their territory, the clans broke off. Most of their leaders, and deputies died in the moving process, and many cats were half starved, injured or weak. Causing chaos and argument between the cats. Four cats stepped forwards, they made four new clans: Grottoclan Creekclan Ridgeclan Thistleclan.

The strongest of build and bravest went to Ridgeclan. The best swimmers remaining went to Creekclan, the cats of forest territories went to Grottoclan, and the ones that were best with herbs ended in Thistleclan. They agreed on meeting on an island off of Creekclan, crossing over a bridge as they had done before every full moon. This island was to be named the Isle. After many moons of this new settlement, and prophecies passed and leaders made, a new prophecy bloomed in a half-moon meeting. Medicine cats whispered it in their sleep, and is spread throughout the clans like wildfire:

"There will be fog, dust, and smoke. Fog will dim every star, bodies will fall, but they will not rot."
