Dusk City is an old island town that has seen better days. What was once a thriving melting pot of supernatural beings, a place to share cultures and exist unjudged, is now verging on becoming a ghost town, the population dwindling to barely a hundred citizens and what had previously been a rapidly growing and developing paradise has been brought to very near ruin after one particularly terrible hurricane season threatened to wipe the very city off the map a couple decades ago. Many homes and businesses were destroyed in the natural disaster, and at the time, a rather useless and lazy governing body failed to pick up the pieces or put any money or energy into rebuilding.

Essentially left to decay, Dusk City was a shell of what it once was, what it could have been, and many people began to leave their homes in droves.

And for a time, it seemed that Dusk City was destined to continue on that path. That is, until a passionate local was elected mayor. Mayor Nezu had grown up in Dusk City, finding comfort in a place where all were welcome, regardless of their humanity, or alternatively, their supernatural nature, and had been chomping at the bit for years to begin proper relief and cleanup efforts, to get the towns feet back underneath of it. However, there is a lot of work to be done.

Each person who has decided to make Dusk City their home, whether they're new to town or have never known anything else now have a role to play in the fate of this humble seaside community, and each choice made will set the path of how the story eventually ends. Some may open businesses, many may choose to join the adventuring guild, and others will perhaps be indifferent to the plight of the town and enjoy a quiet, isolated cottage by the water.

The city will evolve or devolve by the hands of those that inhabit it, and growth is always easier said than done, especially when the magic seeped into the land isn't always going to be your side.
